Addicted:to:Sunday Mornings
Sunday morning, rain is falling
Steal some covers, share some skin
Clouds are shrouding us in moments unforgettable
You twist to fit the mold that I am in
But things just get so crazy, living life gets hard to do
And I would gladly hit the road, get up and go if I knew
That someday it would lead me back to you….
Nothing better than a Sunday morning. Especially those Sunday mornings that are following that late Saturday night of just being.
You know, those nights when you stay up late with the one person you want to just be with. Ya’ll watch late night garbage television. You order from your local 24-hour diner and just lounge around on the couch.
You watch youtube videos and laugh for hours. By the time you look at the clock—you realize it is almost 5 a.m and the sun is going to rise soon.
You strip out of your pajamas while laying in bed together and just cuddle skin to skin.
Kisses get exchanged and eventually one thing leads to another. You make fiery love then collapse into each other and venture into a deep slumber. The deep slumber and epic cuddles where you have no idea where one person leaves off while the other starts. You are so intertwined that you can’t get any closer–but you keep squeezing hoping that you can.
You have the best sleep of your life.
The sun finally rises and the bright rays wake you from your peaceful comatose sleep– and you realize you are exactly where you want to be. Both of you have morning breath–but you have pillow talk anyways. You lay around lazily all tangled in each others limbs and the covers.
The warmth of your naked bodies draped together is no match for the warmth that fills your heart.
Then the dreaded.. “I have to go” begins. Knowing that you have to get up, start your day and go into the office.
You pull yourself away, but find yourself right back where you started. Even after you finally leave–you just keep counting down the days, the hours, the minutes until your next Sunday morning…. together.
